Move better.
Recover faster.
About me
Hi, I’m Gill — a qualified (level 8) sports massage therapist based in Memus, Angus.
I work with anyone who wants to move better, feel better, and stay active without being held back by pain and offer a combination of advanced massage techniques and rehabilitation programmes.
I work with clients from Forfar, Kirriemuir, and across Angus and Dundee.
My approach
The ability to move well shapes how we age! It's no fun being in constant pain that doesn't seem to resolve, no matter what we do. And if we are sore when we move, we can end up avoiding the activities that normally bring us joy. And that's just no way to live.
My massage treatments are tailored to you and focus on easing those persistent niggles that just won't go away. My treatments will start with a really gentle relaxing initial period, perhaps using hot stones to warm up the area, making sure that you are comfortable and at ease which means that more targeted work around tender points and areas you feel might be 'tight' can take place with a body that is already letting go of tension, making it easier to then focus on those tender points without generating that type of sharp pain that makes us tense up and perhaps even jump at the shock of unexpected deep pressure!
Once we've found any irritable areas and made sure they are feeling more relaxed, we might work specifically with the 'problem' movements and make sure things feel less restricted by the time you leave.
Sometimes massage just isn't enough so my final step might be to provide some rehabilitation exercises to strengthen areas that are weak or injured. I want you to be able to do all those things that you love doing without constantly having to come back to 'be fixed' - the key is to make sure your muscles and tendons can support the load you want to throw at them! Of course, I've plenty of lovely clients that choose to come back because they feel great after a treatment - and even sleep better - but not because they have a pain that just refuses to go away!
I can help with:
everyday aches, pains, and niggles
menopause-related symptoms including joint pain, anxiety, and poor sleep
keeping legs feeling great while building towards a goal race
recovery after that goal race
chronic conditions such as back pain and osteoarthritis
providing rehabilitation exercises to get you back to doing what you love

Running, menopause and real life
We moved to Angus in 2018, which was when my relationship with running shifted. I stopped chasing times on the road and discovered the joy of running in the Glens. I’m now an ultra runner and I understand first-hand how important it is to deal with aches and niggles before they become injuries.
I’ve also been through a challenging menopause myself. I understand how overwhelming it can be when new symptoms seem to appear daily — aching joints, fatigue, poor sleep, anxiety, hot flushes — often on top of an already busy life.
My experience, combined with professional training and ongoing research, means I’m well placed to offer menopause massage that supports relaxation, recovery, and pain management during a time when your body can feel unfamiliar and unpredictable.
I’m currently combining these interests through research into how falling oestrogen levels impacts masters runners — watch this space.
When I’m not working, I’m usually being enthusiastically dragged around the Angus hills by Poppy, my cocker spaniel.

"I had a wonderful experience today with Gill. I was made to feel welcome and listened to caringly during my indepth consultation. The massage was bespoke and tailored specifically to help remedy the pain I was experiencing with my back. It's around 5 hours since my massage and I'm genuinely feeling much better. Looking forward to my next appointment in a couple of weeks"

Hours
I'm working from home and am super flexible and always try to book clients in at short notice if they are in pain!
I work Tuesday - Sundays most weeks. Call or text to book your treatment.
HOW TO FIND ME
Coming in to Memus from Forfar or Kirriemuir you will go past the Drovers on your left. The old church is just after, on the right with the manse next door situated just back from the road. Swing wide at the manse and double back down my driveway - the house is easy to miss as it's behind a hedge.
Drive in.. plenty or parking space beside the garage and room to turn around afterwards.
